Yeah, I've been gone for awhile but I'm back... I think. Actually, I probably won't update next week but after that I should be able to be consistent again. So since it's been like a month I guess I have a lot of catching up to do. I'll definitely try to get to requests next rotation but there were some files that I wanted to upload for this one, which is why I didn't include any in this.

DBSK - Choosey Lover PV
This is one of DBSK's catchier, faster songs. They change their style of singing slightly for this, but it still sounds good. The PV is set in a club, so naturally there's a lot of dancing. The boys kind of have a dandy-like/metrosexual style in their outfits. THe video like the song is light and fun.

Alice Nine. - Jewels PV
The song took some getting used to for me (especially the beginning), although it is undoutedly a touchingly beautiful song. It has an almost haunting quality at times, and for some reason gives me the impression that Alice Nine. has matured a bit in their style. The video is aethestically gorgeous with a feeling of understated glamour about it. They tried to give it a simplistic beauty to match the nature of the song. This is apparent even in the band's appearance, as the amount of makeup and hair product used for this video seems to be considerably less than many of their other videos.

Nightmare - Criminal Baby PV
I love the way this song starts off. It's definitely not a soft ballad type song, but it's not too intense either. Some parts sound a bit too like 'The World' to me though. The way the video was filmed really works with the song to give it an eerie mood. The settings and concepts used give the video a very strong visual effect, even moreso than 'The World'. And props to them for using a girl who is actually Asian.

Ito Yuna - I'm Here PV
This song is not one of Yuna's ballads, though I love it nonetheless. It's probably most similar to "Losin'" in style, and as that was my favorite song of hers, this suits me well. The song is pretty fast-paced and is edgier than most of her work. Once again, it is a song to promote a movie. It feels like practically all of her songs are tied to a movie, not that I really have a problem with that. As such, the video has several scenes from the movie "Unfair". The initial setting of the video is pretty awesome. It looks like the inside of the clock tower or something. Yuna goes through several looks in the video, and as usual she looks amazing. I'm not loving the flower girl look, though it's she pulls it off pretty well I suppose. The look kind of reminds me of Olivia's first Reira video.

Ito Yuna - I'm Here [Single]
I already talked a bit about "I'm Here" earlier, so I guess I'll focus on the other songs. The second song on the single is "Reason Why" and it's completely in English. Like "I'm Here", it's a fairly quick song. It's catchy in a weird way. It's one of those songs you like for no particular reason. Nothing about it really stands out; I just like the way it sounds. She also includes a remix of "Faith". I guess it's cool, but I'm usually not a big fan of remixes and as usual, I prefer the original version of "Faith". The last song is an instrumental of "I'm Here".

Yoo Seung Jun - Chong Nuo [ Album]
The majority of this album is dance songs. They're not bad considering good dance songs can be hard to come by in the cpop industry. Then again, he is Korean I suppose. Not my favorite asian dance songs, but definitely respectable. They don't sound too generic and his Mandarin, while not perfect is understandable. The second half of the album is not in Chinese.

Jaejoong - Footsteps
This is a cover of a song by Emerald City I think. Jaejoong sings it sometimes when he's doing a solo. As far as ballads go, this is superb. I love the way he sings it. His voice is powerful at all the right times and it sounds as heart-wrenching as it is meant to. I love listening to him sing this song and it has managed to in just one week become one of my favorite ballads.

F.I.R. - Lydia
This would be another one of my favorite ballads. It's songs like this that made me love F.I.R. The song is touching, Faye's voice is unforgetable, and the composition of the song is unique but somehow perfectly suits it.

Didn't realize until recently how absolutely gorgeous this song was. Loving DBSK more and more everyday.

Not that familar with DeG, never really got into them, so I don't feel comfortable analyzing it. Mostly the songs are hard and harsh, with really loud guitar aned basslines.

Keeping this short, because i'm supposed to be packing. I've suddenly gotten back into DBSK and JaeJoong's birthday is Friday, when this rotation should've been posted, so I uploaded a bunch of DBSK files. Happy Birthday JaeJoong!

DBSK - O Jung Ban Hub [Album]
This album seems to lean more toward slow songs than fast songs. I don't love the title song of this album. I think they've had other dance songs that have been more successful. The album as a whole is alright, not spectacular, not miserable either. I'm partial to their older songs myself. However, DBSK is talented, so pretty much anything they put out is good.

DBSK - Step by Step [Single]
This is their latest Japanese single. The first track is a faster paced song, while the second one is a ballad. I like the second slightly better than their first one. It feels stronger than the first song. The first song seems a bit too simple. Or maybe they just have a fuller sound in the second one. I also dislike the English rapping in the title song. ALso included in the single are less vocal (karoake) versions of both songs and an acapella version of the second track.

DBSK - The Way You Are PV
This is one of DBSK's older songs. It's also one of their faster songs, though it's not that fast still. The chorus really reminds me of a song by eitehr NSYNC or the Backstreet Boys. The video is one of my favorites by DBSK. All the guys interact with this one girl who seems to beat each of tehm at their own game. It has a kind of cosmopolitan feel to it at times. I really like some of the outfits the guys are wearing in this. The settings they use are pretty cool. It's just very well put together visually.

DBSK - Thanks To PV
This is a sweet, laidback video. The band is just hanging around Madrid(? that's what's on Max's hat) and singing. Nothing particularly fancy. For some reason, it makes me feel all warm and happy when I watch it. Guess it's just because they look like such good friends. The song's pretty sweet too.

Fahrenheit - Wo You Wo De Young
I only first heard of Fahrenheit this week. This was actually the first song I heard by them. I feel like there haven't been that many boybands in China lately, so I was surprised when I saw them. This song is very energetic and upbeat. They aren't particularly good singers, but they sing well enough. What I like about this is that it is very typical pop: cheerful and youthful. It reminds me of the time before R&B took over the music scene. Sometimes it's just nice to listen to something like this again. It seems so innocent compared to some songs today.

Sid - Hosoi Koe
I know I uploaded this song a long time again, but I was in the mood to listen to old stuff. I think this was the first song I ever heard by Sid and I loved it right away. It was so moving and I loved the softness it had at certain parts. Everything about the song just seems to fit together beautifully.

Yuna Ito - Faith
This was also uploaded whenever it came out last winter. I wanted to pick some Yuna Ito though, because her voice is so gorgeous. She is definitely one of my favorite singers, simply because her songs are always so beautiful. Of all her songs, I feel like this one is one of the best at showing off her voice.

F.I.R. - Wo Men de Ai
I miss when F.I.R. used to sound like this. Faye is at her best when she is singing ballads. Their slow songs were always so powerful and haunting. It's a shame their sound has changed somewhat now.

Yeah, I haven't been very good with updates lately have I? I blame it on senioritis ^_^. Anyhow, 30gigs.com is undergoing updates, so I haven't been able to check my email, so any requests sent by email won't be fulfilled until 30gigs is back. Sorry! On another note, tomorrow is Aoi (Gazette)'s birthday, so to celebrate, I uploaded a few Gazette files. Happy Birthday Aoi!

Gazette - Hyena PV
This video gets kind of repetitive, but the scene is awesome! Though I would think the crowd should be rabid fangirls, not guys... but if it was a bunch of fangirls, they would not stop once they got over the fence, they'd just jump on the Gazeboys.^_^ They all look amazing, especially as they're walking in. Ruki's dreads are gone! lol and just as I was getting used to them. The song itself is kind of catchy, not particularly heavy or light. It kind of sounds like a blend of different Gazette songs. There are little things that will just remind me of older songs. Not that that's a bad thing.

Gazette - Wakaremichi
Ok, I uploaded this basically because it's Aoi's favorite Gazette song. It's one of their older songs, back when their sound was more distinct and experimental. I listened to this song a lot during the summer as I was commuting, and it's always an awesome song in their lives. They tend to end with it, and Ruki has the crowd sing the lyrics of the chorus towards the end and it's always a cute moment. It probably sounds a bit weird the first time around, but it grows on you.

Gazette - Hanakotoba
I chose this song, because it's one of two that I'm sure Aoi wrote and most people have "The $ocial Riot Machine$". It's one of their slower songs. For some reason, Ruki's singing reminds me of Gackt at some points. o_O The song gets a bit repetitive at times, but I really like some of the guitar solos. The instruments all flow together quite well.

Khalil Fong - This Love [Album]
This is Khalil's sophomore album. he's one of the newer cpop artists that I actually rather enjoy. He seems to genuinely have some talent, which can be hard to find at times in the cpop industry. He's not terribly original, but the songs are almost all written to agree with most people and his voice is smooth and pleasant. Definitely an American influence in the songs.

BoA - Made in Twenty [Album]
The newest dose of BoA goodness. As usual, the album is fairly varied, while remaining completely pop and distinctly BoA. It includes a bunch of her recent singles. I'd say she's definitely improved though, without losing her original charm. Looks like Asia's supergirl's still got it.

JJ Lin - Haven [Album]
First of all, JJ Lin is love. He is undoubtedly one of the best voices in chinese music right now. The kid actually has the talent to back up his career as a singer. Anyhow, this is one of his earlier albums. Give it a try, because he really is a great artist.

Hope everyone's been enjoying their holidays. Mine have been busy. So excited though, because by the next rotation, my college apps should be done! Anyhow, I tried to somehow conenct this rotation to the New Year, and so I thought of parties, so basically I tried to pick dance songs for this rotation. I don't know how well that worked, because I've never been very successful in finding Asian songs that are really good to dance to and well there's a reason why I've started listening to American music again for my pop.

Kangta & Vanness - Scandal
I absolutely love this song. As far as dance songs go, this is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, it's probably because it's very Americanized.

BoA - Girls on Top
This was probably my favorite Asian dance song before "Scandal". I remember being surprised when BoA came out with this. Of her newer fast songs, this is probably the best in my opinion.

Namie Amuro - Want Me, Want Me
This song is short and fast. Kinda different from a lot of what I've heard I guess. I like the beat she has going through the song.

Namie Amuro - So Crazy
I liked this song for the longest time when I first heard it. For some reason, she reminds me of J.Lo in this video. I have no idea why. Don't really know how to describe this song. Doesn't sound like anything recent at all. More like something from the late nineties I guess.

Jolin - Zheng Yi Zhi Yan, Bi Yi Zhi Yan
This song is kinda spunky and fun. I like very few Jolin songs, but this one just appealed to me. It's catchy I suppose.

Alan Luo ft. Jolin - Zhen Ming Tian Zi
This is also one of those fun songs. It's mostly Alan's rapping, he has very little music backing him up. Just some light beats hear and there.

Shinhwa - Your Man
I had so much trouble deciding which Shinhwa song to use, but I ultimately settled on this one. There's just something about it I like. It works together really well, the beats, the English with the Korean, just everything.

Koda Kumi - Shake It
This song is slower and not as typical pop as the other songs are. That's terrible grammar, but I think it expresses my point. This song is more sensual than the others. I don't think it's slow to the point where you can't dance to it though. I just don't like the part of the song where they suddenly start rapping in Engrish. It sounds bad and it doesn't fit into the song.

Yeah, my descriptions sucked really badly this time. Sorry, but I'm so sick of writing at this point >_<. Well comment as usual. Happy New Year!! The next time I update it'll be 2007!

Wow, I'm exhuasted and I have no idea why. I was so awake just awhile ago when my friends were over, but now I'm all sleepy. Well this has been a crazy few weeks so I'm probably just completely drained. Anyhow, this will be the last rotation of Christmas songs so enjoy! Maybe I'll do one extra one of videos, but otherwise this is it.

Gackt & Ayumi - Itsuka no Merry Christmas
This is the first version of this song that I heard. It's really nice with the two voices. And of course, Gackt and Ayu sing beautifully. My only criticism would be that during the parts where they both sing, Ayumi kind of overpowers Gackt.

B'z - Itsuka no Merry Christmas
My favorite Christmas song of all time, and one of my favorite songs period. I was so hyped up about Christmas last year because of this song. This is a classic song; most people in Japan probably know it. Anyhow, it's just an amazing piece of music, so download it!

BoA - Merry Chri
Lovely, quiet song. BoA sings really well in this. Korean version.

Gackt - Last Song
This is one of my favorite Gackt songs. I'm considering it a wintery song because it seems to have a winter theme. The song is just very emotional and touching.

Glay - Karerano Holy X'mas
This song sounds so familar and I don't know why. Also one of those slow moving songs.

The Brilliant Green - Christamas Song
One of the more upbeat songs on this rotation. This is kind of cute. Definitely makes you smile. I bet this song is really great live.

BoA - Candle Lights
I love the sad sound of this song. Definitely sounds like a winter breakup song. Anyhow, I'm hoping this is a winter themed song, because all the other songs on the single are. Catchy, but in a bittersweet way.

Kinki Kids - Kodokuno Machikado
Another song that was on a winter single, so I hoped all the songs were wintery. I somehow doubt this one is, but I liked it so I just used it anyway. ^_^; I love the music they arranged for this song. The song has an overall solemn tone, but the music is so fun.

This week has been one hell of an emotional rollercoaster for me. I was very tempted to not update, but I decided I was developing bad habits and in general getting too lazy.

Gackt - Shi Er Yue de Qing Ge
I was in love with this song last Christmas. It's such a sweet song. Gackt's Mandarin is a bit...eh, but hey even mine is getting bad from lack of use, so who am I to complain? I think he does a really nice job with the structure of the entire song, when to sing louder or softer, the composition, everything. It's just a really strong song.

BoA - Winter Love
This song is absolutely gorgeous. Kind of heart-wrenching the way BoA sings it. Also, very distinctly BoA. I definitely would love to see her put out more ballads.

Kinki Kids - Harmony of December
My favorite part of this song is how it begins. I'm a sucker for traditional music, so I loved this. The entire song is lovely though. Very soothing to listen to. Tthe whole song flows beautifully.

Ayumi Hamasaki - Carols
There seems to be a lot of sad/melancholy Japanese Christmas songs. It makes it feel like America's are too simplemindedly cheerful lol. Ayumi's singing is wonderful as usual. She really does have a nice voice. The music highlights it well, supporting her without taking the foreground.

SMAP - Ai No Hi Kimi To Merry Christmas
This is a bit more upbeat. Sounds more like a traditional Christmas song you'd hear on the radio.

Speed - White Love (Winter Version)
Since this song is just about winter, I guess it makes sense that it's abit mellower. Kind of a typical jpop song. Not much to say about it.

Arashi - Futari no Kinenbi
This song always puts a smile on my face when I hear it. I'm not entirely sure why. It's not one of their best, but it just always makes me giddy and Christmas-spirited.

Miyavi - Jingle Bell (Kari)
I think I remember someone saying this is way too loud for a Christmas song, and I guess it is, but it's Miyavi, so it's fine. It's always good to see a jrock Chrismas song that's not all angsty. Well I should actually check the lyrics before I say that, because they probably are angsty, but it doesn't sound that angsty. Not happy, but not angsty.

Yeah, I kind of completely skipped last week again. Oops. Senior year's just been kind of busy, so if I get irregular with this don't be surprised. Anyhow, I'll be uploading winter/Xmas songs until Christmas, 1) to make it easier to choose rotations and 2) because azn xmas songs make me happy. I may or may not fill requests during this time. Depends on my mood when I'm doing the rotation.

SM Town - Christmas Time
It's from SM Town so you know it's gotta be really sugary, cheerful pop. But sugary and cheerful is perfect for Christmas so it all works.

Kinki Kids - Cinderella Christmas
Sounds like a typical Christmas song ont he radio. So basically, it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Again, basically just sets the mood for Xmas. Sounds like a song you'd hear in the department store while shopping for gifts.

Vidoll - Hitorikiri no Chrixxmas
Completely different from first two songs. I can't even really describe the mood of this song. I guess I would describe it as hauntingly beautiful. Love the vocals in it.

Mai Kuraki - Winter Bells
More mall Christmas music lol. Christmas is the only time of year that I can tolerate/enjoy listening to music like this.

Namie Amuro - White Light
I adore this song. It' is one of my favoirte Christmas songs of all time. I had this on repeat basically all winter last year.

w-inds - Winter Story
Very upbeat pop song. Unbelievably catchy, although it probably gets annoying if it's played too much.

L'Arc~en~Ciel - I Wish
I swear I have no memory of Laruku having a song that sounds like this, but I guess they do. The children singing in it are adorable. This is also really upbeat, but Laruku manages to make it sound... well less tacky.

Zhou Yumin - Yi Ge Ren de Dong Ji
I had to end the rotation on a softer note. Anyhow, I love the composition of this song. Absolutely touching song that makes me feel kind of homesick if I'm listening to it while I'm away for some reason. One of Zaizai's better songs.

I would like to update again this weekend to make up fo the rotation I skipped last week. The chances of that actually happening I'm not even going to guess at. Life's kind of hectic right now, so they're probably be a couple of times when I don't bother to update. Anyhow, comment if you take.

I love this song. It's just so uplifting. Very energetic and cheerful. It really fits the PV preview of it of the Alice Nine boys in school. Anyhow, I just love everything about this song. The way Shou sings, the melody, how everything fits together. It's just nice.

Ping Pung - Sha Ta Shi
Ping Pung has a great style. I especially like it in this song. It's so different from some of the other stuff out there. I'm always really glad to find canto songs I like, since I'm most comfortable with canto myself. And since really good stuff is rare, it's especially nice to find good canto songs.

Guang Liang - Tong Hua
This song is the sweetest song I've ever heard. I was touched the first time I heard it. It's adorable. I mean the lyrics are a bit repetitive and simple, but they're just so cute that it doesn't matter. If your boyfriend can sing, get him to sing this for you.

A-Du - Jian Chi Dao Di
I'm just a sucker for sappy songs today aren't I? This is another one of those Chinese ballads that seem so common in the Asian music industry. I do adore this one though. I don't know what's different about it, but something makes it stand out to me. It's a great song, so try it. What's the harm of listening to just one more ballad when we've all heard a million other ones?

Ok, I'm going to try to be brief with descriptions today because I'm a bit sick and need my sleep. But first of all, tomorrow's Kai's birthday so Happy Birthday! Because of that I uploaded a few Gazette things. And of course Happy Halloween! Anybody have any cool costumes?

Gazette - Regret [Single]
Gazette sounds like they're going off in a slightly different direction, at least on this single. Other than "Regret" the songs on this are fairly heavy and fast paced. I can't really explain it. They're distinctly Gazette, yet they're different too. Definitely not what I was expecting. "Psychedelic Heroine" is a fun way to start the whole thing off. Then, things lighten up with "Regret". And the single closes with "Worthless War" which is probably the darkest of the songs. Songs like this aren't usually my tatse, buf I actually think I rather like it.

Gazette - Kare Uta
This is one of Gazette's slower songs. it isn't actually on a single or album. I think it was just included with their photobook. I didn't love it the first time I hear it, but after watching the NLSG live, it's grown on me. I like hte gneral tune of it and Ruki's singing. I don't know that I like the end of the song better than I like the beginning. I think the reason I didn't really like this song at first was because i didn't really like the guitar and bass lines in it, but now they don't bother me as much.

Gazette - Juuyon Sai no Knife
This song is just plain fun. You can tell as soon as it starts. I never really noticed I had this song until I heard it on NLSG and tried to find it. I can't quite describe what's so great about this song except that it's so much fun to listen to and addicting. Musically speaking, there's nothing spectacular about it. It's very upbeat, although it has its slow moments too. Basically a great song for a live.

Nightmare - Alumina PV
This video's a bit weird. They kind of look like they're wearing astronaut helmets or fishbowls. I wonder if it has any significance in the song. I'm gonna haev to find the lyrics at some point. Anyhow Ni~ya, Sakito, and Hitsugi's guitars in this video look awesome. I'm not sure if they always have them and somehow I just haven't noticed until now, but they look amazing. Especially Hitsugi's. I think I already talked about the song last week, so I guess I'll just talk about the video. It's pretty boring for the first few minutes, but it gets better toward the end. I like the scene where oen of htem is playing by the window. I think it's just creates such a pretty image. So definitely watch it until the end, because the first time I stopped it halfway through to finish it later.

Silver Ash - Out of Control [Album]
I found this awhie back but never got around to listening to it. I finally did today, and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting a bit better and a bit more variety. The songs all sound somewhat similar to me. I mean the songs still sound cool, but they either reimind me of each other or something else they've done. Still, I'm thankful for any Chinese rock I can get. Also, I decided it suited Halloween, all of their songs have a haunting quality about them, so I uploaded it.

Zhang Li Yin - Timeless [Single]

I adore her version of "Timeless", but I've already gone over that. It's a beautiful rendition and I love it. Her second song is also a remake of a famous American song. "Y" is a decent remake, but it doesn't leave as much of an impression on me as "Timeless". Though I have to admit, her voice is really strong. It's amazing that the girl is even younger than me. Makes me feel old lol. Her English pronounciation isn't that bad either. If she can pick up Japanese, she really might be able to become an Asian superstar. And she really does have a ton of talent too, which is lacking in some of today's stars.

L'Arc~en~Ciel - New World PV

Wow, I was just reminded of why I love Laruku. They're the band that got me into j-rock in the first place. Anyhow, "New World" is a great song. It doesn't really matter what kind of music you like, you can probably appreciate this song. THe video basically takes plae on this really tall tower that Laruku are playing on. The elevator part is pretty cool. The computer graphics work they get for the Earth waking up is always kind of cheesy, but they can afford to have a few cheesy scenes in their PVs. Anyhow, bottom line is Laruku is love.

Alice Nine – Number Six PV
The song isn't Alice Nine's best. I can't decide whether or not I like it. I probably need to listen to it a few more times to be sure. The video is fun to watch. Overall the guys look great except that I despise Tora's outfit. I don't fully undertstand how the beginning of the video ties in with the end but whatever. The scenes of them wearing camo are pretty fun to watch. The band members also seem to interact a bit more in this PV which is nice.

Nightmare – the World/Alumina [Single]
This song definitely has Nightmare's usual flair to it, although something sounds somewhat different. It's rather pretty at some points. Not one of my favorites of theirs but it has its strengths. For example, I love the guitar solos. The second song doesn't appeal to me that much either. The tempo is much slower, but while I tend to like rock ballads, this one is a bit dull for me. Or maybe I'm just too tired to judge fairly, but I'm not loving the song. It's a pretty song, but it doesn't catch my attention.

This song really kinda expresses how I feel right now. I have senioritis so bad right now. Well actually no, I still do all my work, but I never feel like doing it so I pu it off until the last minute and stress myself out. Anyhow back to the song, it's such a fun song. It's so rare to find good Chinese rock, never mind canto-rock. I absolutely love this song.

Nightmare - The World PV
Omg, the Naito boys look so good in this. The song is pretty good (Nightmare hardly ever does bad stuff), but I think the visual aspect of this PV is still stronger. I love the mood set by the setting. Everything in the video is a dark color. The candles are a nice touch. Sakito's guitar solo is pure love. And I adore Ni~ya b/c you gotta love bassists. The last scene of this was definitely filmed just for the fangirls. Anyhow, this video really does look cool, so check it out.

DBSK - miss you PV
Ok, they're obviously taking the bishounen look to its limits. What's up with Max's hair? And Hero's is white! Yeah, yeah I comment too much on fashion in PVs. So, onto the PV. It's interesting. It seems that all the guys are involved with this one girl. Either way, all of them get messages saying 'miss you.' And the girl just randomly appears. Great summary, I know. The PV's not amazing, but it held my attention when I saw it. Of course that could be purely because it's DBSK. The song is extremely catchy. I've had it on repeat while I've been doing my college essays. I like it better than a lot of their other Japanese songs

Jay Chou - A Herbalist's Manual PV
This PV is majorly weird. My reaction to the first few seconds was "Chinese strippers that remind me of flappers?!?!" o.O Then there's Jay's dancing. Actually all of the dancing in the video is a tad strange. And then there's the "zhou" jerseys. Yeah, they embarass me (Zhou is my last name too), and I don't even have to wear one. And the dancers' hair, the way it just falls forward like that. And don't even get me started on the bouncing little kids. The two breakdancing girls are pretty good though. Anyhow, my final reaction to this was, please tell me that this is somehow about drug use. And the way it ends, it makes the whole thing feel like a cell phone advertisement. So yeah, in summary, this is a really crazy and hilarious PV.

Jay Chou - Retreat PV
This video is cute I guess. Cute and violent. Jay really needs to stick with T-shirts, cuz those button up shirts that remind me of Hawaiian shirts really are not working for him. Anyhow, he falls in lough with this fruit juice vendor. Then he hits some guy who hits on her. When they're playing pool, that guy shows up and they fight Jay. Then, the two sides go back and forth until Jay is arrested. I'll leave out the end, but I find it hilarious that their idea of making him older is giving him a goatee. I love the last thing he says at the end though.

Happy Midautumn Festival! If you're Chinese, I hope you ate plenty of yue bing tonight. It really sucks cuz we had terrible weather here, so you couldn't even see the moon, but I'm sure it was beautiful. Anyhow, in honor of the holiday, I decided to center the songs of this rotation around the moon. So basically, I think they all have the word "moon" in their title, though with the Japanese I kind of had to guess whether it was moon or month or whatever.

David Tao - Yue Liang Dai Biao Shui
First of all, I love the way this song starts. This is one of those songs that I had but never really got around to listening to. I'm glad I picked it today, because I really, really like it. I like it's simplicity. It suits my current mood perfectly.

This is one of Gactk's acoustic ballads. I tend to prefer these songs, especially when I'm in a more relaxed mood. If I'm hyper I might listen to his other songs, but usually I do favor his softer songs. This song's pretty nice. One of those songs that your parents wouldn't complain about if they heard it.

There's something about this song that is almost haunting. It's absolutely gorgeous. Though I have to say, it's kinda freaky how low the vocalist can push her voice. I'm not too sure I like the effect, but the instrumentals are done pretty well and just the overall effect of the song is amazing.

Hikida Kaori - Tsuki no Kaasu
This is either the ending or opening theme of 'Loveless.' I want to say ending, but I really don't remember. I only ever watched like one episode of it I think. The singer sings both the opening and closing. The opening is a bit more beautiful, but this theme is much more upbeat and catchy. This is the one I remembered, and this is the one that you would find yourself humming. I remember really liking it the first time I heard it, despite the fact that the singer's voice can be a bit irritating.

W-inds - Izayoi no Tsuki
Thios is such a boy band song, but you have to love it. It's simple and sweet pop meant to make girls swoon and dream. I can tell that much without even reading the lyrics. A bit repetitive (as most pop is) but it has a nice tune to it.

BoA - Winter Love PV
Ok, yeah I know, it's barely even fall, why am I posting winter songs already. But this video is so pretty I figured I'd just throw it into the rotation anyway. I'm sure I'll end up reuploading it when I upload winter stuff, but for now I want to put it up in this rotation. The song itself is lovely, it remidns me of some of her older stuff for some reason. I'm really wondering if she really filmed the PV in an ice room, because I figured it was probably just done against a screen, but you can see her breath misting everytime she sings. If she really did shoot it with all the ice, I really admire her because she must have been freezing. It's really cute how she's so much shorter than the guy. Anyhow, the video's absolutely gorgeous so check it out.

I really like this song. I never listened to Bis before, although I probably do have some mp3s by them. The style is kind of interesting. This video also has a feeling of fall, or spring I guess. Somehow the video reminds me of "Cassis." It's probably how they show each member by himself in a slightly different setting than the main one. THis video is also very nice.

Zhang Li Yin ft DBSK's Xiah Jun Su - Timeless (SBS-HD Popular Song 09-10-2006)
This is a Korean cover of the American Idol duet between Kelly and Justin also called "Timeless." For some reason I cannot for the life of me remember that song, though I'm sure I knew it when it came out. I'm usually pretty good about these things, but I really cannot remember it at all. So I have no idea what the original sounds like, but this veresion just blows me away. It's really a gorgeous song. The girl singer's got quite a voice. She's only sixteen and SM Entertainment trained her for the last 3 years to be the next BoA. As some of you might notice, her name's actually in Chinese. That's because she's actually from Sichuan, China. So now they have an artist who can actually sing fluently in Chinese I assume. I wonder if they will make her or have already made her learn Japanese as well, to really piece together an Asian superstar. Anyhow, I can't wait to see what she does.

Gackt - Last Song [Single]
"Last Song" is one of my favorite songs by Gackt. I love the acoustic guitar and the way he sings it. The composition of the song is really beautiful, it evokes a lot of emotion. Don't you hate when life becomes overwhelmingly boring? I've been incredibly restless lately. I fel like I'm waiting for something to happen, like I need a change of pace. I just wish I knew what I could do to satistfy that feeling. Because I can't sit still lately, which is very unlike me. And all of this energy's just going to waste since I haven't been able to concentrate it on anything productive. It's a bit frustrating. Well on the other hand, I am very happy because I finally got my Gazette DVD and as such have been in rabid fangirl mode for hte last few days. Have to thank my friend ten million times for ordering it for me because there's no way my parent's would've gone for that price. *glomps friend*

Miyavi - Miyavi uta ~doukuso~ [Album]
First and foremost, I have to say, "Happy Birthday Miyavi!!!!!!" His birthday was yesterday and I can't believe I almost forgot about it. Anyhow, this was released the day before his birthday, so I hope it sells well since that'd be a nice birthday present. Anyhow, onto the album itself. This album focuses a more on the music and has much more acoustic guitar. The songs on this album have a rawer feeling to them than those on "MYV POPS". While I might not like every song on this, I think it was a good move for him to release a cd focused on acoustic sounds, because that's probably what makes him unique and it's his strength. I know it's one of the things that I respect most about him, how he doesn't necessarily have to have a band to back him up. So I think it's great that Miyavi's exploring this style further, I just hope he doesn't exhaust himself. I mean he only released "MYV POPS" how long ago? The man's been working nonstop lately.

Miyavi - Selfish Love PV
Ok, is it just me or are jrockers suffering from a lack of good stylists lately? I mean, I first started noting this with Sid, but Sid's outfits have always been a bit different from my taste, so I figured it was just that again. Then there were Ruki's dreads. Don't even get me started on that. Now there's this. Miyavi's hairstyle seriously freaks me out. I mean the man's had like every single style and color imaginable and I've never really disliked any of his looks. That's why this one is so particularly painful. I couldn't even watch this the first time through. Anyhow, now that I'm done ranting about the sad decline of jrock fashion as of late, this video should actually be called "Jikoai, Jiga Jisan, Jiishiki Kajo (Instrumental)~ Selfish Love" but I was too lazy to put that as the title. The video is just him playing guitar, so it probably seems boring to some. I like the fact that he's playing in the middle of water. You can see the ripples forming around him because of the active way he plays (or the fact that Miyavi can't sit still).

Miyavi - Jibun Kakumei PV
This video's basically just Miyavi being the spaz he is and breaking stuff. I love the song and the video's fun to watch. He kind of fights himself, which makes sense since the song's name is something like self rebellion. Anyhow the video's just fun to watch and also a bit different from his recent videos since it's his older style.

Gazette - Filth in the Beauty PV
PSC's artists are really being productive lately aren't they? I mean Miyavi's just cranking out stuff, Gazette just released their DVD and will have singles out in months and Alice Nine has "Number Six" coming out soon. Of course all of this activity, makes me very happy. Both of Gazette's new PVs are very visually... powerful, I guess. Some people would say they're a bit disturbing I guess, but I really like what they did with them. This one is probably the one that grosses people out more. I love how misleading the beginning of the song is. I wonder who's singing the intro. I didn't like this song as much as "Regret" when I first heard it, but it's grown on me. Now I've decided I really like the style. Anyhow, I'm not even going to get into what Ruki reminds me of. I like everyone else's look though. The red in Kai's hair is a nice touch, and I love Aoi and Reita's outfits. Aoi's last few looks had been annoying me, so I'm glad that he's wearing something I like again. The fat guy in the video freaks me out, not gonna lie. His expressions are kinda gross. I like when they'er all headbanging. Reita pulls it off suprisingly well, considering that it's usually Aoi who is best at putting on a show as he's playing.

Gazette - Regret PV
While the other video had more of a grungy, grimy feel to it, this one is more artsy and classy. I love some of the imagery in this video. The setting's gorgeous. The way the people are painted black and white creates some amazing effects. Overall, the PV is very visually striking and I love videos like that. Though I must say, does Ruki look particularly tired in this video? On some of the close-ups he looks older to me and he's the youngest member! Anyhow, his dreads bother me less in this video but I still think he should've stuck with his old hair. I mean my friends saw his hair and one said "Tree?" and the other was like "Octopus!" And then I'm just like *cringe* The song is lighter than "Filth in the Beauty". Ruki doesn't really scream at all in this song. I like how the singles contrast each other. And if they represent the direction their music is taking, well I'm not complaining.

JS - See the Future [Album]
JS is another one of those bands that I got into when I was starting to like cpop. I'm actually suprised that I haven't uploaded this before. They have some really amazing songs. I was really lucky. The bands that I liked when I started are still the bands that I love. I think JS actually recently released a new album, but I haven't had time to listen to it yet. This album is excellent though. I love their style. Their songs are just so pleasant to listen to.

Someone wanted a Leehom album, so I went through my albums and this was the one I liked best that she didn't already have. This is kind of before he tried to redefine the word "chink". His style seems a lot softer and there are fewer fast songs. I guess the plus side of this is you can hear how he actually sings. And I really have to compliment him on his Cantonese because I really had no idea that he could speak. I mean at some points it sounded like he was fading back to Mandarin, but I could very well be hearing things at this time of night. Cantonese has even more tones than Mandarin, so the fact that he can pronounce things at all is very impressive. He really doesn't sound awkward, so I'm definitely impressed.

Jay - Still Fantasy [Album]
Someone wanted me to share the link for this, so I'm including it in this rotation. Overall, I pretty much like the album. Most of his songs are similar in style to his earlier works and you can tell right away that they're his songs. But in some other songs you can hear that he is experimenting a bit with other styles. This album has considerably lses rapping on it and much more of his singing. His singing really has improved since he started. I suppose you could look at that transition as his maturing. I think that the quality of the songs on this album is pretty high. I'm sure I'll be uploading quite a bit of it to my mp3 player. I highly reccomend this.

Jay - Twilight's Chapter Seven PV
Apparently this PV is a shortened version of a mystery movie? It's pretty cool to watch and is filmed beautifully. I was a bit confused by it though. I'll admit, I probably wasn't focusing all of my attention on it, so I lost track of what happened at one point of the video. Still, it was interesting and this is one of my favorite songs from the album.

Se7en - I Wanna... PV
I really like the setting of this PV for some reason. It just looks pretty cool in the video. The song itself is okay. Not loving the chorus, but it's tolerable. Can't speak for his Japanese, but the English sounds fine to me. The dancing is decent, though there is this one part that just looked weird to me. Sure Se7en fans will love this regardless.

JJ Lin - Haven [Album]
I don't upload enough of JJ's stuff so I decided to upload one of his albums. I prefer this album over No. 89757. I like almost all the songs. I don't dislike any of them (as is often the case with JJ's work. ) I used to really like "Haven". I also like his rapping in "Bullet Rain'. And of course this album has "Jiang Nan" which is the song that got me into cpop. "Angel" is incredibly catchy. I love the chorus of "Infinity". It's also incredibly catchy. "Mermaid" has a great melody to it. And finally the last song I want to comment on is "Endless Road". I have to say his English is impeccable. So yeah, if you don't have this you better download this right now.

Gazette - Anata no Tame no Kono Inochi PV
This video's a bit disturbing to watch but I think it's pretty well done too. This song is probably one of those where you like it or you hate it. I happen to think it's a fun song and it's one of Gazette's really unique songs. I mean you can telll it's Gazette when you listen to the guitar solos, but I can always recognize this song as soon as I hear it. I've heard a lot of people say that Gazette is losing their creativity when it comes to music, but I'm not crazy about some of their indies songs. So if you want to hear one of their more distinct songs, I would probably recommend this or "Shiikureta Haru kawarenu Haru". The song is a bit creepy in itself, so naturally the video is as well. Still, it's interesting and I love Ruki's look in this video. And they're so cute when they're performing in this PV.

L'Arc~en~Ciel - Jojoushi [Single]
First and foremost, I have no idea how this song is spelt. I've seen it a million different ways, so I just chose one. And I actually accidentally typed it a different way on the zip file but whatever. Hopefully one is accurate. Anyhow, I chose this song, because I've been stressed and I wanted to listen to something soothing. This song has to be one of the most beautiful songs I've heard. Someone told me that this was written by Ken specifically to bring out the best in Hyde's voice and I can believe it. It really is a gorgeous song. The b-side to this single is a different version of "Heaven's Drive". I prefer the original. This version reminds me of some American song, but I can't remember which one.

Kangta & Vanness - Scandal [English]

I'm not going to really write about this song because I've already gushed about how much I love this song. I'll just comment on the fact that it's English since that's the only difference. Vanness' English is very easy on the ears, but he did come from L.A. When Kangta started to sing, I had to remind myself that he was singing English. However, if you do try to understand him, it's not very hard. So really he's not as bad as a lot of singers. However, it's nothing compared to Vanness, a native speaker. In his case, no matter how tired or distracted I am, I can understand him.

Ok, 9 comments? That's just pathetic. Was the last rotation really that bad? What was so wrong with it that only nine people could be bothered to comment? Are people just getting lazy about commenting? Because I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've had fewer than 10 comments, and if the number stays that low I don't think there's a point in keeping this rotation running.So, if this rotation is better let me know, and if it's not let me know what is so bad about my recent rotations. Rain - Move On PV
For some reason, I feel like the audio on this video doesn't match up with the image. But then I feel like each phrase ends at the right time, it just starts a bit late. I don't know. This is a pretty simple video. The setting is not as dramatic as some of Rain's other videos. He's just sitting and occasionally dancing in a house. The song is alright. Not anything groundbreaking, but pleasant enough to listen to.

Shinhwa - Inspiration #1 [Album]
This album starts off well, and then I feel like it gets a bit weaker. The songs are pretty typical Shinhwa fare I feel. The ones that say Japanese versions tend to be stronger in my opinion. But I'm sure most people are familar with those songs from earlier Korean albums. Like Rain's video, this album is nice to listen to, but nothing new and exciting as far as style is concerned.

Glay - Natsuoto PV
I really like this PV and I don't really know why. The song is absolutely gorgeous. And I felt like it was fitting for this rotation, since I'm starting school next week and it's a sad song about summer. Anyhow, I think the PV's beautifully done. I just really love the style. And is that a hippogriff they're riding on? The ending's sad though.

Gazette - Dainippon Itangeishateki Noumiso Chuzuri Zechhou Zekkei Ongen Shu [Single]
I adore all three songs on this. 'Zetsu' is just one of those amazing rock songs that you listen to and love. There's just something about this song. And then 'Zakurogata no Yuutsu' was my favorite song by Gazette for awhile and is still one of my favorites. It's one of their more pop sounding songs and I liked it as soon as I heard it. You wouldn't think that the song's actually sad listening to its upbeat tempo. 'Miseinen' took more time to grow on me. I only started to really like it after I heard it while watching the end of one of their concerts. I really like the part where the song slows down. And the distortion from his accent actually makes the English make more sense to me than the actual lyrics. Anyhow so all three songs are awesome and if you don't have this, download it now.

K - Brand New Map [Single]
I miss K's solemn ballads, but it is summer, so I guess the light quality of his songs can be forgiven. The first song is pretty, though I hate his English, a feeling that applies to all the songs on this single. The second song's cheery and catchy. Now the third song, that's the song that really stands out on this, although I'm not sure if that's a good thing. i could not stop laughing through this song. Between the lyrics and his English. He sounds like a F.O.B. singing in a karoake bar in like the 70's or something. The song really is hilarious.

Jay ft. Fei Yu Ching - Qian Li Zhi Wai PV
This video is so sad. First of all, jay looks so cute in this. It's probably because he still looks very boyish. Anyhow, the song's beautiful, and Fei Yu Ching's singing really helps give it a boost. Jay's improved a lot over the years, but singers these days really can't compare to the singers of our parents' generation, and this makes it clear. This guy's voice is amazing. I really enjoyed this video.

I rather like the sound of this album. I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece or anything like that, but the songs that aren't catchy are very soothing. I like pretty much all the songs and that's pretty hard to find in an album. Maybe it's because I feel like I didn't like some of her previous work, so even though her songs aren't too original it still feels like an improvement to me.

Ito Yuna - Losin' PV
The song itself isn't very creative or unique. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's some song in English that sounds pretty much the same. But this video is absolutely gorgeous. The quality's amazing (explains the size) and it's just so pretty. I love how there's a forest but the floor is mirrors. And she looks soooo pretty! This is probably the best I've seen her look since her debut.

Sid - Otegami [Single]
I feel like Sid's been really productive lately. After all Chapter 1 only came out 2 months ago, and Hosoi Koe not that long before that. And I t hink Hoshi no Miyako was released only last November. That's a lot of songs to churn out in less than a year. Anyhow, Otegami is another one of their emotional, powerful ballads. Very pretty and somewhat dramatic sounding. Unfortunately I can't help thinking of the video when I hear it. Life is an upbeat, summery type of song. Doesn't really stand out to me, but it's probably one of the most obvious examples of their departure from their previous style and v-kei. Kinda boring compared to some of hte other stuff they've done.

Sid - Otegami PV
I saw this before I heard hte song, and I wish I hadn't. I'd already seen a recent photoshoot of theirs, so I wasn't completely disgusted by Mao's outfit. I mean I almost wanna say it reminds me of a retro pimp. The shape of his collar kind of reminds me of Elvis for some reason, but it's leapard print, which is just trashy. His tie is loose, which just looks sloppy. There's this thing wrapped around his waist that reminds me of goth Aladdin... It's just really, really bad. Then there's their geisha who freaks me out beyond belief and reminds me of a huge, flourescent bug. It's probably her contacts, but she's just kinda gross. And Shinji's outfit, which came so close to actually looking good, is completely ruined by the fact that he's wearing shorts. Otherwise though, the video isn't terrible. The setting is supposed to look like a traditional Japanese house and Aki doesn't embarass himself too badly. He really should levae that headbanging thing to Aoi, but otherwise it's not too bad. I have no idea what they're trying to say with the video, but it's interesting. Conclusion: Sid needs a new stylist and should maybe not use women in their videos and they'll be fine.

Sid - Chapter 1 PV
Even though the single came out awhile ago, this music video was still pretty hard to track down. They toned down a lot for this video to suit the solemn mood of the song. The outfits are black and white suits and the settings are pretty much monochromatic/neutral. Most of the time, I prefer when musicians move around when they're playing. Aki may be the one exception to that; he may actually be better off standing still. Well, he doesn't need to be still, but he should probably stop trying so hard, because it's not working that well for him. But enough Aki-bashing, considering that I actually do like him. I really love the way they did this video compared to Otegami. You can actually take it seriously. It's a lot more refined.

I like this song, and I'm not too sure why. It's another one of those songs that make me want to dance. The video's completely just Alan dancing. Towards the end Jolin joins him and I have to say, she really is a good dancer. This appeals to the part of me that doesn't care if a song has any musical value as long as it has a good beat.

Collection of catchy pop songs, with some songs bordering on rock. Some are better than others, but overall they're pretty good. The English needs work, but the English pretty much always needs work in Asian music when the person isn't a native speaker.   I recommend this, because pretty much everyone should be able to find at least one song to like.
